Our health journey should not begin with us standing by and watching things happen to us, and then asking a stranger what to do. In an ideal world, we are engaged and aware of the areas in which our individual bodies may struggle at times. Though medications have their place, most of us are lacking in rest, soul care, movement, sunshine, nature, nutrients, deep connections with others, and healthy emotional processing. These are the factors that can cause symptoms. Medicines can only partially alleviate symptoms while leaving a gaping wound that, if not addressed, will fester and manifest itself later in the form of additional health issues. Consider a life in which you are more familiar with your body than anyone else.
You understand what your body, mind, and soul require to be healthy and vibrant. I'm not imagining a world without sickness or death. That exists one day in the new heaven and earth for those who know Yeshua's redeeming love. However, many of our modern health problems are caused by an environment that lacks the things we require to thrive, and be strong, healthy, and resilient. Oh, to be more tenacious! Can you picture it? It may take some time, education, and getting in touch with your body, mind, and soul, but it is doable. I've had two heart surgeries and seen my resilience dwindle quickly. Within a year of implementing new routines, I've seen my resilience begin to rise again. God created our bodies with deep built-in brilliance. He made Creation with healing properties in order for us to engage with them but worship Him alone. As I learn more about nature's astonishing healing power, I can see how people can be in awe and fall into idolatry, worshiping the created order rather than the Creator Himself. This is a heartbreaking reality, but I understand it. We are surrounded by healing opportunities. Are you ready to explore and interact with them?
